farmerswife System Architecture Overview
The farmerswife system is built on a reliable two-component architecture designed for flexibility, security, and performance. The Server and Client applications are installed separately and can run on different operating systems. For example, the Server may run on Windows while users access the system from Mac or Windows clients. A small configuration ensures smooth communication within your network environment.
farmerswife Server
The farmerswife Server is the central database application. It stores all system data, including projects, bookings, users, and global settings, within the active database file (.efdb).
In a typical setup, the Server is installed on a dedicated machine and made accessible to users via a local network (LAN) or an external port connection. Once running, the Server manages all data access and communication for connected users.
farmerswife Clients
farmerswife Client applications are used for daily work and connect directly to the Server. These include:

Installation Overview
Install the farmerswife Server
Start the Server
Wait until the status shows “Server Ready.”
Install the farmerswife Desktop Client on any computer requiring access.
Configure the Client–Server connection.
Optionally access the system via the iOS app or Web Client.
* Linux Server installations are available for large or multi-site facilities only and require experienced in-house Linux administration.
