There are three ways to create Dispatch (Check In or Out) in the farmerswife Client application.
1. From the Object Manager
Highlight a selection of Objects that have to be dispatched. Click the drop down menu (or right mouse click) > New Check Out From Selected. The Check Out window opens to finish the dispatching. Use the New Check In From Selected to quickly check in a selection of Objects.
2. From the Dispatch Module
Click on the drop down menu > New Check Out or Check In. Add Items via the fields at the bottom of the ‘New Dispatch’ window (Add Object (Name) or Add Object (Inventory Number). For further details on the Dispatch Window read here.
Also see in here the setting ”Create and Slave A Booking When Creating New Dispatch” to create a new Task/Booking from a Dispatch.
Related to "manual" checkouts also read up on the "Global Status" configuration for the then created Task / Booking.
3. From a Booking
In some workflows the Bookings department will create a Booking and add equipment. As soon as the Booking is confirmed, they create a Dispatch from the Booking. Only items from the 3 Object Categories & Groups will appear in the Dispatch window (no Users Resources, Time Units, Classes). Create a Booking > Add Equipment > Click on the “Create Dispatch” button:
The Check Out window opens, filled with the Project’s information:
By default the Status is set to: In Preparation. Now the Kit Room can take over and prepare the equipment. Next they change the Status to Ready and later to Dispatched once it’s gone out. The Status of the Dispatch will be reflected in the Edit Booking window. It is possible to open the Dispatch directly from the Edit Booking window.
Every time a Dispatch is created via the “Create Dispatch” button on the Booking window, the Dispatch will be the master and the Booking its slave. It will not be possible to alter the Booking on the Timeline or add Objects to the Booking. A message appears: Booking Is Dispatched! This means the Dispatch is the driving force and the Booking will follow along. When e.g. Objects are added to the Dispatch, they are getting added to the Booking immediately. If a Dispatch’s out time or the number of rental days are changed, the out time and rental days of the Booking will change as well. Whether a Check Out is slaved to a Booking is indicated at the top right corner of the Check Out window. It states: Linked to Booking.
You can also link multiple Dispatches to ONE Booking from the Dispatch window after the initial dispatch from the Booking was created.
If the Dispatch should be unlinked from the Booking, click on the little drop down icon at the right upper corner of the Edit Dispatch window.
