The Objects Tree gives an overview of when Objects are booked or available in the chosen View Port. Objects to be viewed and managed are placed in the Objects Tree on the left hand side.
To the left of the Object icon there is a small expand button, click to display the Projects that the Objects have been Booked on. The Project is displayed with Container Name / Project Name and Number / Client Company Name. Double click on the Project name to access the Edit Project window.
In the calendar the coloured boxes represent Bookings and when empty it means the Object is available to be Booked. In the below image the Bookings show the Project colour and Project names.

These are all example of Toolbox Settings that can be applied to determine what to view.
1. Adding Objects to Tree and Saving Object Views
Objects can be added to the view by:
- Drag and drop from the Toolbox > Objects and Objects Class Tab - Search feature
- Objects Tree Menu options
Drag and Drop
Select one or multiple Objects in the Toolbox > Objects tab. Drag and hover the cursor over "Objects" until the name highlights in green, then drop. When selecting multiple Objects, click and keep the click down or press shift to not lose the selection when dragging. It is also possible to drag Object Classes to the tree, from Toolbox > Object Class tab. farmerswife will ask if the Objects of the class should be added or the class itself.
To add more items to the view while keeping the ones that have already been added drag an object and hover the cursor over the name of an Object and drop above or below according to the direction of the blue arrow. A second option is to enable a the Toolbox setting Add Object To The List. When this setting is enabled it is possible to add additional Objects by hovering over the Objects Tree name until it highlights in green, then drop.
Search feature
Click on the search icon > the Object Browser will open up. Search for the Object in the search field. Select it and it will be added to the list of Objects.
Objects Tree menu
Click on the Objects Tree icon to display the Menu. In the bottom there are three options to load the Objects tree.
- Load From Classes: To add all members of an Object Class to the View.
- Load From Groups: To add all Objects of a Group to the View.
- Load From Categories: To add all Objects from a Category to the View.
Saved Views
When Objects have been added to the Tree they can be saved as a named view. All saved views will appear at the top of the Object Tree menu. When selecting one of the saved views the Objects of the saved view will be loaded to the Objects Tree.
Load saved Hourline Views
The saved Hourline views are displayed in the second part of the Objects Tree menu.
Access the Options field on your menu and you will be able to:
- Save Selection: You will need to give the view a name and it will be saved. It will save the Objects that are currently displayed in the Objects tree.
- Remove Saved Selection (): Click here to delete a Saved Selection.
- Copy From Another User: Add another user's view to your own list of saved views.
2. Filters and View Options
Options:
- Sort Objects: This option will sort the Objects order of appearance alphabetically.
- Clear View: This will clear all Objects from the view.* It will not delete any Objects or any Saved Selections.
- Expand / Collapse All: Expands or collapses all Objects in the view.
- NEW IN 6.8! Include Inactive When Loading: Choose to include Inactive Objects and/or Resources when loading objects into the Objects Tree
- NEW IN 6.8! Sort By Name When Loading: When active, this will allow you to load Users & Resources by first name in to the Object Tree, when loading them from Category, Class or Group
- Always Sort Objects By Their Current Dispatched Division: related to the EMT and Divisions module.
Filter:
- Off: No filter applies; all selected Objects are shown.
- With Bookings: Only shows Objects from the selection that have Bookings in the selected time range.
- Without Bookings: Only Shows Objects from the selection that do not have Bookings in the selected time range.
- Prel. Due to Object Permissions: If Object Permissions are enabled, the list will only show Objects that have Bookings in a Preliminary Status due to Object Permissions.
- Preliminary: Shows all the Bookings that have:- Global Status Preliminary - in yellow- Actual Status Preliminary (Conflict) - in red
- With Conflicts: shows all clashing/conflicted Bookings in red, so you can easily see them.
3. Personnel Type Bookings in Objects Tree
It is also possible to view Personnel Type Bookings such as Vacation and Sick in the Objects Tree. To view them go to Toolbox > Settings > Objects Tree and tick the box for Rosters. The main view for Personnel Type Bookings is in the Personnel Tree.
4. Booking Operations in Objects Tree
There are many different Booking Operations you can do in the Objects Tree, some of the most interesting ones are:
- Adding / Removing days in a booking on the Long Form
- Copy a multi-day Booking
- Allocate Object Even if it's not available
- Accept/ Decline Booking Proposal
- Multi-Select Bookings Option
The Multi Select Bookings functionality was initially developed in version 6.4 to be able to apply an 'Invoice Received Status' across multiple Bookings at once. It can now also be used to 'Force Confirm' multiple conflicting Booking Objects at once, and to apply a 'User Approval Status' on several Booking Objects in one go.

5. Objects Menu
Click on the individual Object icon to display the Object Menu:
- Solo View: To only view this Object in the Objects Tree view.
- Remove From View: To remove this Object from the Objects Tree view.
- Maintenance:
- Set: Will create a Maintenance Booking starting at that moment in time and with no end date.
- Release: Will release the Maintenance Booking from that moment in time.
- New: Creates a new Maintenance Booking for that Object where the In and Out time is set Manually. If a Time Range is highlighted farmerswife will offer these dates for the Maintenance Booking with the dialogue Use Time Range, Select Yes to use highlighted dates, select No to use today’s date.* Maintenance Bookings are only available for Objects until 6.8, they cannot be made on Groups, Time Units, Users or Resources. From 6.8 release onwards, you can now also make a Maintenance Booking on a Group. See here.
- Maintenance > Report - To Create a Maintenance Report for this Object.
- Reports:
- User Report: This option will only appear on the list if the selected Object is a User. To create a User Report only for this User.
- Object Report: To create an Object Report only for this Object.
- Object Report (Multiple Objects): To open the Object Selector to allow the selection of multiple Objects for the Object Report.
6. Reports
- Monthly Utilization Budget
- Reports:
- Object Report (Multiple Objects)
First highlight a time range in the Long Form calendar for the report. Then click on the Object Tree icon to open the menu and select Reports > Object Report (Multiple Objects).If a time range different from the displayed in the Long Form calendar is highlighted, a dialog will ask Do You Want To Select The Middle Month?Select NO for keeping only the highlighted days. Select YES to select the whole month displayed in the Long Form calendar.Next, the Object selector opens to choose Objects for the Report. Either make the selection by clicking on the required Objects or click on the button Select Objects In Tree to select only the Objects currently displayed in the Objects Tree view. Click OK to generate the Report. - Month schedule
- Month Schedule Project Booking Hours:
This report will show us the booked hours for the whole month of the Objects that we are seeing at that moment on the Objects Tree: - Financial Report On Objects

7. New Object Tree in 7.1
Activate the new Objects Tree:
To be able to use this new feature go toToolbox > Objects Tree tab, and untick the option "Classic Mode".
View options for the New Object Tree:
Draw Cancelled: Will show Bookings with Cancelled Substatus
Draw Planning: Will show Bookings with Planning Substatus
Draw Preliminary: Will show Bookings with Preliminary Substatus
Draw Tasks: Will show Task Bookings
Draw Hour Boundary: Enabling this option will display Bookings as small rectangles aligned with the time of day they occur. If unchecked, Bookings will be stacked on top of each other, occupying the entire day's space.
Note Icon: Displays the Booking Note in the Longform and the Object Note through the Note icon.
If the setting: Draw Hour Boundary is used the Note Icon will only be displayed if there is enough space.
Add Object To The List: When selecting the Object in Toolbox > Objects tab > Add To Tree the Object will be added below all the other Objects in the Objects Tree.
Mouse Over Bookings: Will show the Mouse Over when hovering over a booking.
Use Container/Project/Client Colors: Will show any of these colors, if there are set and overwrite the Booking Status colors.
Always Force Preliminary Colour When Preliminary: Will overwrite all other colors and show the color that is selected for Preliminary in Toolbox > settings tab > Display.
Always Force Planning Colour When Planning: Will overwrite all other colors and show the color that is selected for Planning in Toolbox > settings tab > Display.
Draw Multi Day Events Without Actual Time Range As One: Only works if "Draw Hour Boundary" is set. It will show multiple day Bookings as one, even if they don't go through the night and have: "Use Actual Time Range" set.
Draw Same Projects Consecutive Events As One: If you have an Object with single-day Bookings for the same Project on consecutive days, click this setting to display the Project name across all the days.
Auto Adjust Objects Height: If ticked, the Objects line height will extend to make room for the stacked Bookings. If not ticked, the Booking rectangles will adjust themselves to the line height given.
Break Event On Days With Multiple Events To See More Text: This setting is only available, if the checkbox "Auto Adjust Objects Height" is not selected. With this new setting it will be possible to see more text of overlapping Bookings, so it displays it similar to the Classic Mode.
Expand Events Height: Will expand the Booking height to occupy the entire height of the Object line. Useful if e.g. on some days you have 2 Bookings that are stacked on top of each other and on other days you have only 1 Booking, this Booking height will then be increased to meet the Object line height of the two Bookings.
Show Number In Name: Will add the Project's Number in () after the Project Name.
Show Conflicts: Option to show or hide any conflicts on Booking. If ticked "Draw Large Conflicted Days Warning" is accessible to be ticked as well.
Draw Large Conflicted Days Warnings: When enabled will show the conflicted days with larger red rectangles instead of small lines at the bottom.
Small and large conflict:
Classic Mode: Activating this option restores the traditional view of the Object Tree, including all its settings as they were prior to version 7.1.
Draw Division Icon In Object Tree: If the Division module is licensed it will draw the Division icon on the Booking.
Line Height: Set a default line height which only applies to the Object Tree.
Focus is now set on the Booking that the mouse is hovering over, double click or single click will open the Booking.
Objects Tree Menu > View Mode > will only show: Verified and Verified/Checked Out. Will also show those colors in the new Object Tree.
Maintenance Bookings will show with the maintenance icon and a bright green striped color.
